Abstract

52 sundays in the Vondelpark, Amsterdam

Atmospheric and experimental investigation of a spot, a film about looking. For a year, several shots were made every Sunday in Amsterdam's Vondelpark with a classic 16mm hand camera. It was fitted with a spring to ensure that no shot lasted longer than 20 seconds. However, more important than the technique and approach were the responsive eyes of the makers and the desire to avoid the predictable, the anecdotal, the cliché.
